David Earl Walgren

David Earl Walgren, born December 26, 1955, in Mount Pleasant, passed away on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics surrounded by loved ones. David was a gentle soul who lit up every room with his smile. David is survived by his only child, Zachary Walgren (Lexy); his grandchildren, Finn Walgren, Oakley Walgren, and Collins Walgren; his siblings, Jan Kindem, Vickie Larson, Ron Walgren, Lori Liechty (John), and Debbie Pickett (Randy); as well as countless nieces, nephews, and friends.David was preceded in death by his father, Richard; his mother, Mary; and his beloved older sister, Carol Ensminger. David graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and worked for Heatilator for a number of years. He later held various factory-related positions before retiring in 2015. David was an avid Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeyes fan. He also loved playing pool and was a true professional when it came to cooking on a charcoal grill. A celebration of life for David will be scheduled at a later date, but will be held in Mt. Pleasant.
