            Arthur was born January 1, 1934 in Roselle, Iowa to Andrew and Leona (Daniel) Kirsch.  He died Tuesday morning October 23, 2007 at the Hospice House in Omaha, Nebraska after a long battle with leukemia.           

            He graduated from Holy Angels School in Roselle, Iowa then stayed home to help on the family farm.  He was employed by Quinn Plumbing and Heating in Carroll when he was drafted into the US Army.  He served state-side from 1957-1959.

            Arthur married Lucy Meinhardt on February 4, 1961, at Sts. Peter and Pauls Church in Carroll, Iowa.  He farmed in Roselle, Coon Rapids, and Manilla, Iowa before moving to Omaha and becoming a painter.  He was still actively working for D & D Services up until the time of his cancer diagnosis.  He thoroughly enjoyed his family, friends, and flowers (especially his rose bushes).

            He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Diana (Pletchette) Ludwig, brother-in-law Ron Pletchette, and sister-in-law Shirley (Wiederin) Kirsch, father-in-law and mother-in-law: Joseph P. and Anna Gertrude Meinhardt.

            He is survived by his wife Lucy Kirsch of Omaha, Nebraska; daughters Ramona Kirsch of Urbandale, Iowa, Annette Goeser and husband Tim of Council Bluffs, Iowa, sons Daryl Kirsch of Council Bluffs, Iowa and Joe Kirsch and wife Sarah of Redmond, Washington; grandchildren Jessica Goeser of Sioux City, Iowa, Jacob and Cody Goeser of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Harley and Mia Kirsch of Redmond, Washington; brothers and sisters Andrew C. Kirsch and wife Mary Ann of Carroll, Janice Klocke and husband LeRoy of Coon Rapids, Iowa, Mercedes Drees and husband Lloyd of Carroll, Duane Kirsch and wife Betty of Carroll, Jerome Kirsch of Carroll, Virgil Kirsch and wife Peggy of Carroll, and Monica Nellesen and husband Norm of Carroll; brothers-inlaw: Dean Ludwig of Lake City, Iowa and Nick Meinhardt of Omaha.  He is also survived by many nieces and nephews
