JOY ALICE STEWART
Joy Alice Craig Stewart, 92, peacefully passed away on October 1, 2020. Joy was born on May 13, 1928, to Zula and James Craig in Kingman, Kansas. Joy met Ernest C. "Sonny" Stewart, Jr. and they married on February 28, 1953 and moved to Texas. Ernest was from the Stewart family that were among the first settlers in the late 1800's to live next to the Colorado River, known today as Lake Travis. Joy and Ernest lived on Lake Travis together for over 45 years. In 1960, Joy was employed by the U S Dept of Agriculture and retired in 1982. After her retirement, she and Ernest traveled the U.S. in their motorhome and always had a great time. Ernest preceded her in death in 1999. Joy enjoyed her cats and loved to play cards. She was a serious bridge player. She later changed to poker after moving to the Lakeline Oaks Sr Living in Cedar Park, Tx. Joy is survived by her sister, Valda Moorhead, and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Her deceased siblings are Helen McClure, Verne Craig, and Howard Lee Craig.
