Edwin Chase
Edwin Chase, age 71, of Oreland PA, died peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in Chestnut Hill Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born in Philadelphia, Edwin is the son of the late Charles and Jean (nee Mahoney) Chase. Edwin attended Ben Franklin High School in Philadelphia. He was employed by Springfield Township and Upper Dublin School District until his retirement at the age of 62. Ed was an avid golfer at Flourtown Country Club. He was an archery enthusiast and enjoyed practicing at the Wapiti Range in Fort Washington. He was a fan of antique cars; driving in parades and throwing candy to the children. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards and shooting darts with the Quaker City Dart League and at the Oreland Inn. More than anything, Ed's children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. He was an involved Dad; at their sporting events, he was always on the sidelines cheering them on. Ed is the dear brother of Carol Jarrett, Marie Randazzo, Louise Urbanski and Anne Ialongo. He was predeceased by his brother Charles and sisters Jean Jones and Ester Chase. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Anton B. Urban Funeral Home, 1111 S. Bethlehem Pike, Ambler, PA. Interment will be private.
